Bands for Weddings and Events
Answers based on the questions above:-
A) Hi Jon, I'm Rosie, I sing in a 4 piece party band called Superfruit, and an acoustic duo called Herbie. I live near Southend but travel all over for gigs from local bars to weddings all over the country and overseas hotels.
B) We love providing music for weddings, whether it's playing a bride down the aisle, entertaining guests while they sip Pimms in the sun or getting everyone dancing in the evening. The right choice of songs can really set the atmosphere, and it's not uncommon for us to be at the church at midday and still playing at gone midnight, so we're often a big part of the whole day!
C) The answer is right there...memorable. Although we play at many weddings, for the couple this is their big day. We have to make it memorable for them and their guests, and for the right reason! The cards, letters and emails of thanks we receive from the couple, family members and guests help us to keep giving it 100%.
D) I think we're very lucky that we love doing what we do for a living, so I think I've found my career choice for life! All weddings are different, and no matter whether they're big, small, subtle or grandiose, they all have a character of their own and we always leave with happy memories. I'd like to see more of the world though, if I could combine that with my job I'd be very happy indeed!
E) Having worked alongside you at weddings I can honestly say you are on the move the whole day. At any wedding or event someone needs to not just go through the motions of sticking to a set plan, but use their experience and versatility to keep everything running smoothly and to keep an eye on the tiniest details. We both know small problems can become larger problems if they go unnoticed or aren't handled correctly.
I think the key phrase for anyone thinking of hiring you would be 'peace of mind'. Let Jonathan do all the hard work so you can relax and most importantly, enjoy your big day!

Sandra's Flower Studio - Website / Profile - www.sandrasflowerstudio.co.uk

A/ My name is Sandra Picksley and I have been a florist for 22 years, a wedding florist for 14 years. In the last couple of years I have set up on my own going full time last year. I am based near Lincoln and while most of my brides are fairly local I can travel around the counties such as Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Humberside, Leicestershire and beyond. My furthest at present is a Cornish wedding. I can create designs for any part of the wedding day from brides and bridesmaids bouquets, church pedestals, pew ends and archways to venue designs.

C/ I like to listen to my clients and to take note of all their likes and dislikes and then to work with them to achieve their dream displays. I always remember this is their day and hope I make them feel comfortable to discuss their plans with me and if they come up with a new idea I do my best to make it happen. Nothing has beaten me yet!

Photographers for Weddings and Events
DKH Photography - Website/ Profile - www.dkh-photography.com
A/ Hello, my name is Dilip and I deliver memories for a living – be that for portrait sessions, events or weddings. I setup DKH Photography with the sole aim of delivering a friendly, professional photography service based on the delivery of the highest quality service and products and after care. I am based in Belvedere, Kent (part of Greater London) and cover the UK.
B/ I most enjoy the reality of emotions at weddings and the abundance of beautiful moments that naturally occur throughout the wedding day. Also, my clients love my ability to be able to create and capture great couple shots – making both the bride and the groom really look and just as importantly, feel good – this is something that I have studied, trained in and really work hard at.
C/ Clients love my relaxed, down-to-earth and ‘open’ personality. This ability enables me to help them relax and openly discuss their wedding plans. Whether they want true documentary style coverage or whether we need to go into lengthy discussions about their wedding plans and discover what would really be their ideal wedding memories and how I can help them get the photographs. All the little details I might otherwise miss. It’s my way of giving my clients a truly memorable experience.
Couples also see how enthusiastic I become when listening and talking about their wedding plans – I’m as excited as they are - this builds trust and a deeper understanding between us. It’s important for the couple to know that I am not there just for the money – I want to deliver results that will emotionally appeal to them and make them really look forward to me photographing their wedding as much as I want to.
D/ My future aspirations are to build a successful business built on a reputation for delivering exceptional results – great value for money and creating happy couples who’ll tell their family and friends about me.
E/ There are many people at a wedding that can make or break the day – either through pure neglect or through an unintentional but tedious delivery of services. Unfortunately, most service deliverers have an attitude of doing ‘their’ bit without worrying about client wants or needs - it is good to see another service provider whose priority is exceptional customer service! ,
Speaking, arranging and coordinating a wedding is not an easy task and to deliver it smoothly, professionally and in a friendly manner can only mean that the Toastmaster has not only trained but has then gone on to further develop the passion that is necessary to continue to be successful.
Kernow Photo - Website/ Profile - www.kernowphoto.co.uk
A/ I am Brian Pierce owner of Kernow Photo , Based in Redruth, Cornwall and I provide quality, value for money wedding photography throughout the county of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly. With a totally transparent menu based pricing structure you can simply choose the options you want and know what it’s going to Cost. For your protection and peace of mind KernowPhoto is fully registered and has full public liability and professional indemnity insurance. KernowPhoto is a GOLD member of the Canon Professional Network, a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and is accredited by the Trusted Photographers scheme.
B/ I regard it as a privilege to provide the wedding photography for your special day. While it’s a great honour, it’s also a great responsibility to capture a never to be repeated event. On the day, your photographer will often be with you longer than any other professional or indeed guest. We are often up before the bride in time to photograph the make-up and dress fitting, and with your right through to the first dance and beyond. It’s both an emotionally and physically tiring day, but there is a lot of satisfaction in a job well done.
C/ When the food is all eaten, the dress put away in the drawer and the honeymoon nothing more than a distant memory your photographs will often be your only remaining keepsake of your wedding day. It’s important to me therefore to make sure that I capture the memories that you want, in the way that you want them. My role starts before your wedding, discussing ideas and your preferences and helping you plan your photography in the style that you prefer. On your wedding day it’s my job to make sure that your memories are captured in a professional manner and then to process and present your photographs professionally. Much of my business comes in the form of referrals from previous clients.
D/ I’m not looking to substantially increase the number of weddings I do each year. However I am planning to increase the options offered to couples to provide a more comprehensive service and, let’s be totally honest about this, to increase profit margins. For next year I am going to increase emphasis on pre-wedding and engagement shoots, offer a photo-booth service at weddings and offer more high-end album options.
E/ Most couples will have attended one or two weddings before they start planning their own, but the services of a professional with a proven track record and with established contacts can be invaluable, often saving money in the long run, and certainly reducing stress levels. The level of service that you seem to offer is very impressive, offering as you do a full planning service combined with toastmaster and master of ceremonies role.
Answers Based On The Questions Above:-
A/ I am a photographer from Rainham in Medway in Kent, but can cover surrounding counties. I am Claire Colston Photography and have been taking photographs for over 30 years. I have had my work published in magazines and also sell my photographs in a local shop and online. I am available for weddings and bespoke shoots.
B/ I love photographing weddings, of all the events I cover these are the most emotionally fuelled. Nothing can match the pre-ceremony nerves(I have them too) and then as the day goes on the joy and happiness and love that fills the venue. I manage to capture the atmosphere and often my clients are amazed when they see their photos as not only do I give them the traditional pictures but I have caught moments unique and special to them albeit from a different angle or view to a conventional photographer.
C/ I realise I have a massive responsibility in photographing such a big day. I take hundreds into thousands of pictures and have a spare of everything ensuring nothing can go wrong. I meet clients beforehand on numerous occasions and build up a rapourt with the clients. I am available at all times and no request is too bizarre. I always hate the day ending but always leave as a friend of the family. I really think I have the best job in the world. The least I can do is give the clients the best possible photographs I can take.
D/ I can see myself doing this the rest of my life. I am truly passionate about photography and I am so lucky to have turned my passion into my business. As long as I can hold that camera photography is where my future lays.
E/ Jonathan's services are a must to anyones wedding day, the bride and groom do not want the extra worry of the little things as managed wrong these can turn into big things that can potentially spoil the day. Jonathon brings an air of calm and sophistication to the day and his organisational skills are above all others.
Martin C Photography - Website/ Profile - www.martincphotography.co.uk
A/ My name is Martin and I'm a professional wedding photographer living near Nottingham. I mainly work around the Nottingham, Derby, Chesterfield and Sheffield areas but I am always happy to travel further afield.
B/ I really do enjoy weddings. I know you would expect me to say that but it happens to be the truth. I never forget that my customer's have entrusted me to photograph what to them is one of the most important days of their lives. They've no doubt put lots of effort into the planning of their wedding and it's down to me to make sure they have photographs that tell the story of their day. What I love though is getting 'the shot'. This can be different at every wedding. Sometimes it's during the formal photographs where the lighting and background are perfect. Sometimes it's just catching that loving glance. I get a real satisfaction out of looking at the back of the camera and thinking "That's the one!"
C/ I don't like letting people down. Period. So I put 100% effort into every wedding and do the best I can possibly do. My customer's often comment how much effort they see me putting in. Be that in trying to organise large groups of people or rolling around on the floor trying to photograph the kids. My goal is to exceed my customer's expectations.
D/ I love what I do. My goal over the next two years is to keep improving my photography skills. That's a weird thing to say isn't it? But the wedding photographer market is so competitive that unless you continually improve, innovate and push the boundaries then you will quickly grow stale.
E/ I got married myself earlier this year. And when you are on the other side of the lens, the day absolutely flies by. There are a million and one things that you've planned that will need sorting out and new things that crop up. As the happy couple you simply don't have time to sort everything out. And that's where I think a good toastmaster/Master of Ceremonies is of a great benefit. They can take the load off you and make sure the day runs smoothly. They can deal with all the suppliers, coordinate the day, leaving you to get on with spending time with family & friends and enjoy your special day.
Another benefit which is often overlooked is that an experienced master of ceremony will have worked with lots of suppliers and will know from experience who are worth using and who are not. It's so hard for couples to know who to trust. Which photographer is reputable? Which cake supplier won't let them down?
J Doran Photography - Website/ Profile - www.weddingphotographymiltonkeynes.com
Answers based on the questions above:-
A/ My name is John Doran and I am a professional image maker (photographer). I am currently living in South Wales but will be moving to Milton Keynes in 2015 as we are in the process of buying a property there. I cover the whole of the UK and have shot some fabulous weddings as far north as Loch Lomond and as far south as Malcesine Castle, Lake Garda, Italy! My main locations are of course local areas like Pembrokeshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Staffordshire, London, and pretty much anywhere I am asked really.
B/ The fact I have been chosen to capture your wedding, so that my images will invoke your future memories, the album I provide you with will become a part of your family heirlooms, oh, and the response I get after the photographs are viewed and the smiles and tears from you and your family. That is what I love about being a photographer.
C/ My number one priority is you, the client. After all, it is YOUR wedding day. No one else's. It is a once only event for many people and as such, there are no second chances. You have to be able to work under extreme pressures as a professional photographer and ensure you can deliver what the clients have booked and paid you to do. I use only the best album suppliers and printing labs for your photographs. Why? Well... As I have already said, it is YOUR wedding day. Your wedding album is going to last a lifetime, it will become something to treasure and as such, this is what drives me. I want you to remember your day like it was only yesterday when you view your album.
D/ My future aspirations... I only really have one. To continue providing an invaluable service to my clients until I retire and watch my children grow.
E/ I think in today's society and modern lifestyle people seem to forget the importance of having knowledgeable and professional suppliers at their weddings. So many times I have heard people say they wished they had done things differently and one of those is having a professional toastmaster. Not only can a professional toastmaster bring the room alive by announcing the newly married couple, they can help a great deal with the organisation and take a lot of stress out of the day. It saves the best man a job too!
A/ I'm Kim Stewart, founder of Lilguy Stationery, creating beautiful hand made stationery for all occasions. I'm based in Henfield, West Sussex on a farm where I live with my mad but loveable dogs (the Lilguys!). With the ease of the internet and digital photography I can cover the whole country, or indeed abroad, and have had clients from as far away as Dubai.
B/ I enjoy creating beautiful stationery that helps to set the tone of the couple's day and helps with the overall theme/colour scheme. It always gives me a kick when the couple receives their stationery and it exceeds their expectations. I'm a perfectionist so it's important to me that everything is right.
C/ Weddings can be enormously stressful to organise and it's important to me that I help to minimise that for couples wherever I can. I know what level of service I expect from companies that I deal with and I always give the same level of service to my own clients, after all, I want my clients to be happy to recommend me to their friends and family.
D/ During 2013 I was being treated for breast cancer so was not able to give my business my full attention. I've now got the all clear however, and am looking to build my business up again and to help more couples to achieve the wedding of their dreams. I'm also looking to expand into Asian weddings with their flair for rich colours and sparkle.
E/ Jonathan has a wealth of experience as a toastmaster, MC and co-ordinator of weddings and events that can only help an event to run smoothly and ensure that the client has a stress free day. From controlling the running order of the day and organising the suppliers, to announcing guests to the receiving line Jonathan would be an asset to any wedding. He has worked with clients from all walks of life and will tailor his services to suit the needs of the event, whether it be very formal or less so.
